The Yoga Alliance Accredited 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is a foundation for teaching that covers all aspects of yoga practice and prepares you to start a flexible and meaningful career to help others.
The training is designed to trigger your development and transformation, facilitating you to emerge as a practitioner and teacher of skill and wisdom.


The Yoga Teacher Training at Kawai Purapura consciously provides for one main, highly qualified yoga teacher that guides you through the training, holds the space for the group and coordinates your education. Throughout the training, there are a range of excellent guest teachers that help carry the group and lift you to the highest level possible.

I would recommend this course for beginners and the advanced yoga practitioners. My aim was to learn how to teach yoga and something new about different styles. I have received a huge amount of inspiration and ideas as well as great knowledge and tools. It was a great opportunity for practicing teaching and has helped me develop and establish my own home practice. I feel clearer with my future aims and more connected to my guru. This course opened a door, which had only been starting to open before, on a big whole lifestyle. This course broke down asanas, postures and modifications, and gave me the skill to focus on body alignment. It has taught me how to teach safely without harming either the student or myself. I received great tools for teaching relaxation and yoga nidra at the end of a class. I would recommend this course since it has dedicated core teachers, specialised guest teachers, and authentic yogic practices, ceremonies and rituals that resonated with my inner truth.
This course provided a well-rounded introduction to the foundations of yoga. I would recommend this course for people that desire a holistic approach to understanding and teaching yoga. A highlight was the sacred journey out Tapovan Forest Retreat at Karekare beach. I feel I have a better understanding of the complete yoga system.
I have seen and felt transformations physically, emotionally mentally and spiritually in a way that I never got from any other workout or form of activity. I started yoga at home in my life when I was very stressed, depressed and physically struggling. This was due to many injuries, over-training and emotional stress. From yoga I have found balance again and learnt new ways to deal with the “outside world”. I feel I am on a journey, improving my own life from the inside out. Learning to accept myself, love myself and be kinder to myself. I have learnt more about really listening to the body, the value of breathing… really breathing! I learned how important the breath is and that quite often less is more!
